Authorship and Contributorship

We consider the author (co-author) of a research article as it is done by СОРЕ, that is the person who is the creator or originator of an idea (e.g., the author of the theory of relativity) or the individual or individuals who develop and bring to fruition the product that disseminates intellectual or creative works. The status of the article writer means that this person performed the research and did not infringe the copyright and other persons' rights.

We consider and focus on Authorship and Authorship Responsibilities proposed by the Council of Science Editors (CSE) and defining the Role of Authors and Contributors, determined by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE).

Our relationship with the authors is built on trust and mutual respect. This signifies that the author has read and accepted the publication ethics principles, the "publishing policies" and "editorial policies," as well as the article publication terms, before submitting a manuscript to the journal. This means, for example, that the writers present the findings of truly original research in their publication. This means that the authors do not steal other people's ideas and texts during the article preparation process, do not send their article to multiple journals at the same time, and do not use the scientific potential of the journal team and reviewers to improve the article for subsequent submission to another journal. This also implies that the authors

We support and adopt the following ICMJE authorship criteria:

  • "Significant contributions to the work's conception or design; or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work; AND
  • drafting the work or critically reviewing it for key intellectual substance; AND
  • final approval of the version to be published; AND
  • agreement to be held accountable for all aspects of the work, including ensuring that any questions about the truth or integrity of any component of the work are thoroughly examined and resolved.

Contributors that do not match all four of the above authorship criteria should not be identified as authors, but they should be acknowledged." The co-author must understand the entire scope of the job and not be held only responsible for the portion that he performed directly. Individuals who did not significantly contribute to the scientific results and article preparation may be thanked at the end of the article; the writers may express their gratitude with reference to how these individuals contributed to the development of this scientific effort.

We sincerely hope that when you submit an article to the editors of our journals, all those who have truly contributed to its preparation will be considered, and no individuals unrelated to its scientific substance will be included. We also hope that no individuals among the article writers would like to claim authorship using authority over the true authors, who financed the results generation or sponsored C payment, who promised to include the true authors in their future article or made this earlier and now seek compensation. If the results given in the paper were obtained with someone's financial assistance, the authors should directly declare funding sources by noting them out at the end of the article.

If the article has many authors, they each choose the corresponding author (specified in the Cover Letter), who corresponds with the journal's editors and oversees the article's processing. The corresponding author announces specific choices about the article on behalf of the entire team (for example, a substantiated disagreement with the reviewers or the article recall). We send copies of the letters to all co-authors when keeping correspondence to the corresponding author to avoid misunderstandings between the authors or between the editorial team and the authors. A student may be identified as an author in a multi-author publication based mostly on the student's dissertation, and supervisors and committee members give supervision and direction to the student.

If, after the first article submission, changes are made in the composition of the coauthors' team, then the persons who are excluded from the composition of the article writers' team should send their consent to this to the journal staff. After this, a new Cover Letter will be issued and submitted to the editors with the signatures of all the co-authors.

If the article content (the complexity of the research and the scientific results obtained) is not well correlated with the number of co-authors, the editorial staff may request information from the author's team on the contribution of each co-author to the research and the article preparation. Following this analysis, co-authors may be asked to reduce their number and to acknowledge the contributions of exempted individuals in the body of the work.

In all aspects of authorship and contributorship, we follow the СОРЕ principles and recommendations.
